When we woke up at around 6:00 – 6:30 am we did not expect to see what we saw outside our window. We knew Tropical Storm (TS) Fay was coming for a visit and for those of you that live in Bermuda, or have visited…a TS is something you fly your kite in, what showed up that morning…was a full blown hurricane, tropical storm my @$$.
What we saw after Tropical Storm Fay moved past….it is hard to explain without getting teary eyed.. A war zone. Living on over an acre of land with some of the most beautiful trees and fauna, you some times take your surroundings for granted. After that morning…I no longer will.
For those that have been able to visit #SpencerIsland, you know what we had. Our view, our Poinciana Trees (the Tree Swing!)…all gone! We pray that some can be saved. The look on my kids face that morning, I will never forget. Especially Ryan who later realized that the swing was gone.. 🙁
